”Songs of the Earth” Concert Weekend: February 12 and 13

SPECIAL GUESTS: Brent Michael Davids (composer, flute) and Henry Red Cloud (5th generation descendant of Chief Red Cloud)

Concerts are held at North Como Presbyterian Church (965 Larpenteur Ave W in Roseville, MN). The building is handicap-accessible. No tickets needed. Free-will donation with 100% going to our beneficiary.

Saturday, February 12th at 3:00pm (Childcare provided this concert only) and 7:30 pm

Sunday, February 13th at 3:00pm

This year our concerts will go to benefit the non-profit organization, Trees, Water & People, dedicated to helping people and the planet. Specifically, we will be singing to raise funds for the Tribal Lands Renewable Energy Program which creates education, jobs and heat energy surrounding the use of the sun’s energy through solar panels in some of the poorest parts of our country on midwestern Native American reservations.

We will be singing a variety of selections including local composers and featuring “Native American Suite” by Brent Michael Davids who will be our featured guest this year.

Please join us for our 7th year of supporting global causes and singing to make a difference!

ANNOUNCING OUR 7th SEASON!

We will be singing for Trees, Water and People, which is an organization that works in a variety of ways, but we will be focusing our attention on their good work with renewable energy on reservations in the Dakotas and Minnesota. Check them out at: http://www.treeswaterpeople.org/ If you want to sing with us, send me a note! Jennifer@GlobalHarmonyChorus.org

We have an exciting guest musician joining us, who is LOCAL and WONDERFUL! Learn more about Brent at: http://www.brentmichaeldavids.com/concertmusic.html

You may have heard that my time at North Como Presbyterian Church has come to an end. North Como has been the backbone of Global Harmony since its inception, and has financially supported the concerts, and of course, has hosted all the concerts and rehearsals and fundraisers. I am grateful to North Como, and know that without their willingness to say “Let’s do it!” these concerts wouldn’t have happened. I will continue to direct Global Harmony for the upcoming 2011 season. After that, North Como will be deciding how they want to continue this important outreach. I am starting on a new adventure, at Central Presbyterian Church in downtown St. Paul, at 10th and Cedar. My Global Harmony email will stay the same: Jennifer@GlobalHarmonyChorus.org

I do hope you’ll participate in our 7th Season, as we Sing to Make a Difference!
